“Kimmy Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel” Trailer Announced

Written and directed by Chris Martinez, “Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel” is set to hit theaters nationwide on December 25, 2013, Christmas Day. Spring Films, MJM Productions and Quantum Films have released the teaser trailer for “Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel,” an official entry to Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this year. The film stars Eugene Domingo reprising her dual role for the third time on the big screen as the twins Kimmy and Dora. Other cast-members include Dawn Zulueta, Lovi Poe, Benjamin Alves, Ariel Ureta, Miriam Quiambao, Kiray Celis, Moi Bien and Sam Milby.

Eugene Domingo Named Best Actress in 26th Tokyo International Film Festival

Kapuso comediane and host of Eugene Domingo won the Best Actress award in the 26th Tokyo International FilmFestival for the indie film "Barber‘s Tales."  Directed by Jun Robles Lana, Barber's Tales is a drama film set in a rural town during the Ferdinand Marcos dictatorship in the 1970s where Eugene plays a woman who took over a barbershop business when her husband died.

Toni Gonzaga drew laughter among the audience of "The Buzz" after she mistakenly introduced comedienne Eugene Domingo as "Eugene Dominguez," the lead star of the upcoming Star Cinema-produced film "Tuhog." Toni reasoned out that while mentioning Eugene, she was thinking about actor-comedian Leo Martinez, who plays Tonio in the dark comedy film, and their surnames simply mixed-up. Before the segment ended, the actress-comedienne called the TV host “Toni Gonzales” and threw more jokes to help her avoid embarrassment. She also said “Thank you. My name is Eugene Domingo” as her last words for the guesting.

Instant Mommy Movie Trailer released starring Eugene Domingo and Yuki Matsuzaki

"Instant Mommy" will be shown from July 26 to August 4, 2013 in CCP and selected Ayala Cinemas as part of Cinemalaya Film Festival New Breed category. Eugene had to learn Japanese for her role in the light comedy-drama Instant Mommy. She is cast as Bechayda, a wardrobe mistress in TV commercials, who pretends to be pregnant to keep her Japanese fiancé. The comedienne even shot a birthing scene for a crucial sequence in the movie. Hollywood-based Japanese actor Yuki Matsuzaki plays Kaeru San, a 40-something Japanese businessman who is the love interest of Bechayda. He was previously seen in period films such as The Last Samurai (2003) and Letters FromIwo Jima (2006). Instant Mommy also stars Luis Alandy as the ex-boyfriend of Eugene’s character and Rico J. Puno as the father of Eugene’s character.

A guest celebrity bluffer will also be invited each week to join Jose and Wally. During its first few weeks, the show will feature celebrity contestants although thecontest might soon be opened to the general public via auditions.
